About the role

Position Overview

The Education Program Coordinator leads the development and delivery of NAT’s educational programs. This role involves creating curriculum, managing program logistics, and supporting learning experiences that make technical topics accessible to a broad audience. The Coordinator works closely with program leads to ensure content quality and alignment with NAT’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery

  • Plan and facilitate interactive workshops on topics such as biosignal processing, wearable sensors, prototyping, and data ethics
  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and resource preparation for events and learning sessions
  • Support live and virtual education sessions during hackathons and community programs
  • Assist external facilitators and guest speakers with session design and setup

Curriculum & Content Development

  • Develop and update learning resources, including slides, handouts, and tutorials tailored for beginner and intermediate learners
  • Design modular educational content for core programs
  • Ensure materials are accessible, relevant, and adaptable for both in-person and online formats
  • Align content with current trends in biosensing, accessibility, etc.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with mentors, advisors, and external speakers to support high-quality educational delivery
  • Liaise with program leads to ensure alignment between educational components and event objectives
  • Participate in team meetings to plan educational components and share updates

Administrative & Logistical Tasks

  • Manage schedules, attendance, and resource distribution for educational events
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all learning materials
  • Track program participation, attendance, and resource usage
  • Assist in grant or funding reporting related to education activities

Evaluation & Reporting

  • Collect participant feedback and track engagement
  • Support the creation of post-program reports with insights and recommendations
  • Maintain organized documentation of educational materials and improvements

Skills & Competencies

  • Clear communication and strong instructional design skills
  • Ability to explain technical topics to non-experts
  • Organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable collaborating in fast-paced, team environment

Tools and Technologies

  • Content creation: Google Docs, Slides, Canva
  • Communication: Gmail, Slack, Google Meets
  • LMS Platforms: Moodle
  • Documentation: Google Docs, Sheets

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience developing or delivering learning programs in science, tech, or engineering
  • Interest or background in biosensing, digital health, or applied technology
  • Ability to adapt content across various formats and skill levels

Preferred

  • Experience working with students or early-career professionals
  • Experience with educational programs in nonprofit, university, or hackathon settings

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position based in Edmonton, Alberta. It requires 2–3 days of in-person work per week, with full availability during key program dates. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed to support live events. The work is collaborative and deadline-driven, especially in the weeks leading up to major hackathons and workshops.

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
