Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor and the technical direction and guidance of the Storekeeper II, receives and issues material in accordance with established procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and verifies in-bound shipments; processes and posts issues from stock, verifying quality, quantity, and product description.
  • Runs the re-order report, creates requisitions, and re-orders stock at established re-order points and quantities, adjusting for seasonality or other influencing factor.
  • Counts and reconciles inventory, in accordance with established schedules.
  • Places and processes non-inventory orders with defined vendors, for other divisions.
  • Processes petty cash receipts.
  • Updates and creates new SAP inventory files, as required.
  • Operates assorted materials-handling equipment including forklift.
  • Administers weigh scale process.
  • Processes monthly accounts receivable billings.
  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
  • Prepares expediting report and follows-up on back orders.
  • Liaises with Accounts Payable to resolve issues regarding inventory and payment irregularities; makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Liaises with individuals, departments, and suppliers on inventory issues including selection, quality, and quantity.
  • Assists in asset disposal and product return processes.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum secondary school graduation; or
  • Equivalent combination or education, training and experience

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be an intermediate skill level in word processing software and at a basic skill level in spreadsheet software and must possess basic on-line data entry skills
  • Must possess superior customer service and teamwork skills

Assets:

  • Experience in warehousing and inventory control is an asset
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must be physically able to load, unload, and stockpile inventory
  • Must have and maintain a valid “G” Class Ontario driver’s licence
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
