Construction Site Superintendent
Location: Calgary, Alberta

Position Overview
As a Construction Site Superintendent, you will oversee all on-site commercial construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will supervise staff and subcontractors, coordinate schedules, and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders-including architects, engineers, and clients. Your leadership will be key to driving project success and upholding our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, including staff and subcontractors, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of all phases.
- Lead daily site operations, including site meetings and weekly toolbox talks, to ensure clear communication and safety compliance.
- Enforce and implement health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Oversee procurement, delivery, and maintenance of equipment and materials; confirm receipt and manage inventory.
- Coordinate inspections and obtain necessary permits from local authorities.
- Track project progress, maintain daily logs, and provide regular updates to project management.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve on-site issues or emergencies promptly.
- Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and organized throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project managers by reporting site changes that may affect costs or require client communication.
- Oversee final site cleaning and turnover prior to tenant occupancy.
- Perform miscellaneous carpentry tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial Construction Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong time-management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with construction management software is an asset.
- Journeyman Carpenter, Construction Technologist, or equivalent trade certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
