About the role

We're looking for a caring and reliable Adult Living Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you'll be supporting an adult living in a home setting who faces moderate to severe behavioral and developmental challenges.

Your job is to provide consistent, respectful support that helps the individual live as fully and independently as possible. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team focused on building trust, safety, and meaningful daily routines.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supporting the individual with daily living needs
  • Following a behavioral support plan designed by the care team
  • Administering medication according to agency policies
  • Following seizure protocols when needed
  • Providing personal care and promoting hygiene
  • Encouraging and supporting community involvement
  • Focusing on the individual’s strengths and capabilities
  • Accompanying them to appointments, outings, and recreational activities
  • Helping with cooking, shopping, cleaning, and light yard work to maintain a safe, comfortable home

What You Bring

  • Diploma in Human or Social services or other related field
  • 1-year recent experience with individuals with moderate to severe behavioural and developmental diverse abilities
  • Or a combination of education, training, and experience.

Your unique qualities

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with clients, families, and care teams
  • Support individuals on the autism spectrum with life skills, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping strategies
  • Follow care plans and respond calmly and safely to challenging behaviours or crisis situations
  • Communicate clearly, manage conflict, and advocate for client needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all safety protocols
  • Plan routines, set goals, and help individuals stay engaged at home and in the community
  • Keep the home running smoothly — including cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting, and yard work — with a focus on healthy, balanced living

Other Musts

  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
  • Safe driving record
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Consent to Criminal Record Check.
  • This position requires Union membership and 1.85% union dues are deducted from each pay.
  • Following training are required and provided to the successful candidate free of charge. Existing certification is an asset: Emergency First Aid with CPR-C, Mandt-RCT, SafeTALK, Safe Food Handling, Medication Management, CLBC Privacy, Anti-Bullying, and Harassment.
  • Physical abilities to provide individuals with personal care and recreational activities indoors and outdoors.

ROGRAM: Crestline House

LOCATION: Kamloops BC

STATUS: Part-Time

HOURS of WORK: 16 hours per week

SCHEDULE: Fridays and Saturdays, 4pm to 12am

REPORTS TO: Crestline House Program Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $27.54 - $31.61 per hour (Grid 11 as per collective agreement)
