Domtar is currently seeking Mill Technician candidates with Operational, Maintenance, and Electronic/Instrumentation (E&I) skills to join the Marlboro Paper Mill in Bennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper products are produced daily.

As a Mill Technician, your starting pay will be $26.62/hr with $0.65/hr Continuous Process Allowance (CPA). Once you successfully complete your six-month evaluation, you will be eligible to obtain your first skill block which would then increase your base wage to $31.39/hr with $0.80/hr CPA. A Gainsharing Plan is also available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and corrects problems by monitoring processes and equipment and informing other technicians of issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoots equipment by noticing/investigating problems, performing repairs or submitting work notifications for repairs
  • Maintains proper documentation for processes and equipment
  • Performs housekeeping duties
  • Performs work responsibilities in a safe manner by adhering to safety procedures. Review and/or recommends updates to safety procedures.
  • Assists with writing of SOPs, training, and/or safety procedures by reviewing and updating.
  • Performs specific functions as defined in certified skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of continuous employment preferred, and preferably in a manufacturing facility, OR have an Associate degree in engineering, electronics or science
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to work in an industrial environment, including: inside, outside, at heights and inside confined spaces
  • Ability to train in and comprehend complex process systems
  • Excellent prior work history and safety record
  • Experienced skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • High math ability with a minimum score of 6 on WorkKeys Math Test
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • History of demonstrated helpfulness and “can do” attitude

You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
