WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services to a variety of orthopaedic, cardiopulmonary, neurological and geriatric patients within the emergency department, inpatient acute care, inpatient surgical unit, and the continuing care settings.
The Physiotherapist will practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and ethical values as defined by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. The primary functions of the Physiotherapist will be to assess the impact of injury, disease or disorders of movement and function, and promote, restore and prolong physical independence by enhancing a patient’s functional capacity. The Physiotherapist will also be responsible for delegation of tasks to Physiotherapy Assistants. Through direct one-on-one care and education, the Physiotherapist will support individuals and populations across the continuum of care.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy

Current registration and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
-
Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team as well as independently
-
Innovative critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and make decisions
-
Highly developed conflict resolution skills
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Keen interest in using a goal oriented and patient-centered approach to patient care
-
Computer skills that support the utilization of statistics programs and the Cerner Electronic Patient Record

Adaptable to change and is proactive to departmental initiatives

Physical ability to perform assigned duties

Excellent attendance record in alignment with STEGH’s attendance policy

Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s mission, vision, values and code of conduct
WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

Two (2) years’ clinical experience in providing physiotherapy services for surgical, medical, complex continuing care and geriatric patients
