About the role

Description

The Technical and User Experience (UX) Writer plays a significant role in the integration of digital communications vehicles, message content, language standards, and user experience, ensuring that Agricorp's communications strategies are reflected and supported by its digital properties. Working closely with the Technical Communications team, they develop content (instructions, messaging, etc.) to support a consistent digital voice that continues to enhance Agricorp's reputation and customer success in the digital space.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver all forms design services (paper, PDF, and web forms), and be responsible for their quality and accuracy
  • Develop the content for wireframes, mockups, and digital prototypes
  • Create and update style guides, UX content frameworks, templates/pattern standards, user guides, instructions, SOPs, and checklists
  • Help manage the content of Agricorp’s digital properties through content inventories, information matrices, conceptual diagraming, etc.

Job status: Permanent

Salary: $70,757 - $83,243

Work status: Full time in office and hybrid work arrangements are available

Location: Must live in Ontario to perform this role

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (technical communications, UX communications and design, digital media, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in a combination of technical and UX writing roles, preferably in a digital communications environment, and including experience in forms development as a specialization within technical communications.
  • Experience communicating and maintaining technical communications style guides, UX content frameworks, and templates/pattern standards.
  • Experience with substantive editing and copyediting.
  • Experience with industry standard desktop publishing tools. Expert-level skills in Microsoft Word. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, LiveCycle, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Figma, HTML, CSS, or Javascript is an asset.
  • Experience in the finance or insurance industry is an asset.
  • Familiarity with French is an asset.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization (Editor's Association, Society for Technical Communication, any of the International Plain Language Federation member organizations, Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF), etc.) is an asset.
