Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking individuals who are naturally described as caring, dependable, organized, and team-oriented. You should have strong communication skills and a trauma-informed approach to working with youth. Our ideal candidate builds positive relationships easily and thrives in supportive care environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll provide day-to-day care and support for children and youth. Duties may include:
Establishing respectful, trust-based relationships with youth
Supporting a safe and emotionally stable environment by following program safety protocols
Assisting with daily routines and leading youth-focused activities
Helping with meal preparation
Encouraging the development of a strong self-image in youth
Acting as an advocate for children and youth to ensure access to proper resources
Providing emotional support that reflects the youth's current needs
Teaching essential life skills, including emotional regulation, critical thinking, and social awareness
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 with a minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with children or youth
Post-secondary education or enrollment in a Social Work or Human Services program is considered a strong asset
Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including:
Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector)
Child Intervention Record Check
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract
Cultural awareness and recognition of Indigenous beliefs and practices
Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse communities, including individuals of various backgrounds, identities, and genders
Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills
Mandatory Requirements:
If you are selected as the successful candidate, you will be required to provide the following documents as a condition of employment upon receiving the job offer
A Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) that is dated within the last 6 months
A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months
Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver’s License
A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months
Copy of education listed in resume.
