Monday to Friday : 8:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Will be required to work a minimum of 1 evening per week to accommodate RAC candidates

Nature of the work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in helping teachers and staff responsible for the preparation, presentation, supervision and evaluation of the work related to learning concepts and exercises in the context of vocational training.

The RAC services support adult learners across the Eastern Townships territory in obtaining official recognition for the skills and knowledge they have gained through work experience, training, or life experience, without necessarily having followed traditional academic pathways. The goal is to help candidates earn a diploma or certification more efficiently by validating what they already know.

Description of tasks

General Tasks

  • Supports students in the completion of projects.
  • Uses audiovisual tools, animation techniques, or other methods, particularly for the theoretical aspects of various fields.
  • May be called upon to promote her field of activity and to maintain professional relationships with related businesses.
  • May be required to lend tools or devices to students and explain how they work.
  • Depending on his or her field of activity, may be involved in discussing contracts, preparing calls for tenders, and handling the sale and purchase of materials.
  • Keeps an inventory of equipment and supplies, fills out order forms, monitors the budget allocated to her sector, and maintains a basic accounting of operations.
  • Prepares statements and reports on the activities of her sector and may be required to develop development plans.
  • Ensures that equipment and tools are in good condition by carrying out inspections, maintenance, repairs, and, when necessary, adaptations.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations during various tasks and sets an example in doing so.
  • Uses a computer and the various software necessary for her work or to conduct research.
  • May be called upon to assist staff with the use of software specific to her work.
  • May also be required to train less experienced technicians and coordinate the work of support staff.

Specific responsibilities of this position

  • Guide candidates through each step of the process, from application to certification.

  • Help candidates gather and prepare necessary documentation (e.g., abstracts, portfolios, references).

  • Collaborate with content specialists and pedagogical teams to plan assessments that reflect industry standards and program competencies.

  • Work closely with teachers, program coordinators, content specialists and professionals to ensure the collaboration and coordination of the RAC process.

  • Organizes training activities, skills acquisition, and evaluation.

  • Contribute to issuing official recognition (diplomas, certificates, or partial equivalences).

  • May be called upon to represent the RAC department at various promotional activities outside of normal working hours, such as job fairs.

Desired profile

Schooling

Meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold a Diploma of College Studies in an appropriate technical program for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority

  • Hold a valid qualification certificate or a pertinent journeyman certificate for the program offered, and have five (5) years of relevant experience

  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written)
  • Experience with adult learners

  • Knowledge of vocational programs
    • Diploma of vocational studies (DVS)
    • Skills training certificate (STC)
  • Driver's license and method of transportation
