To further our mission, the Corporate Services Branch is currently seeking a dedicated and client-focused individual to join our team as a Senior Business Analyst. This key position requires someone with exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills. Working in a team environment, you will be responsible for facilitating business analysis activities and developing associated products for various technology-related projects and initiatives. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will excel in conducting thorough research and business needs analysis to identify and implement effective solutions to challenges faced by our clients. Your ability to understand their requirements and communicate effectively will be crucial in delivering valuable insights and driving successful outcomes.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

  • Research, design, develop, and maintain various applications and databases for the Ministry, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM;
  • Engage with ministry staff and stakeholders to analyze current and future business needs and develop comprehensive business requirements to meet the needs of their business into the future;
  • Establish quality standards to ensure consistency and make recommendations for changes and improvements;
  • Develop change management materials and user guidance documents to ensure business clients successfully adopt and implement the technology or process;
  • Act as the conduit between the ministry, other ministry partners and vendors;
  • Provides Tier 2 support by investigating reported system issues, analyzing root causes, and determining if problems relate to user error, business process, configuration, or application setup; and
  • Recreates and troubleshoots system issues, adjusting configurations when possible or escalating to technical teams or vendors, and monitors resolution to ensure consistent system performance.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of various IT applications, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM;
  • The ability to identify, clarify and analyze problems and develop and implement solutions and/or recommendations;
  • Advanced communication skills to communicate effectively with a variety of technical colleagues and non-technical clients;
  • The ability to build and maintain co-operative and collaborative relationships with colleagues, team members, business clients, external stakeholders and service providers;
  • A comprehensive understanding of project management, change management and continuous improvement principles;
  • A comprehensive knowledge of business needs analysis/business process improvement methodologies, tools and processes; and
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to solve complex issues.

Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through a university degree in Computer Science, business analysis certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating a high level of problem-solving and communication.
