We are currently looking for a Die Cutter Operator to complete our press team. Located in Scarborough, Ontario, our trade printing company specializes in advanced trade printing business and offers a complete printing service accessible via our website. BDPrint is looking for a Diecut Operator to join its growing family.

Job Overview

The Die Cut Operator is responsible for the safe set-up and operation of the die cutting equipment within the department. The Die Cut Operator will set up and operate the die cut machine to cut the jobs according to specifications. This individual will meet or exceed production, quality and efficiency requirements at all times.

Main responsibilities :

• Setting up make ready and running Bobst or similar die cutting equipment
• maintaining competitive run speeds and maintenance of all die cutting equipment.
• Work with estimators and designers to determine if structure is able to run successfully on equipment and suggest alternatives and revisions to design structure for efficient run speed and quality.
• Comply with all OHSA safety requirements and Company’s health and safety policies.
• Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed.

Qualifications and skills:

• Process handwork assembly according to specifications.
• At least 1 year of experience operating die cut machine.
• Read and understand docket instructions and specifications, seeking clarification and guidance as necessary.
• Set-up, operate and run die cutting machine in keeping with required specifications and requirements.
• Input the appropriate configuration based on job specifications and requirements.
• Retrieve applicable dies and other materials needed for the job run, checking for damage or issues.
• Visually inspect the job for imperfections and adjust accordingly.
• Record and maintain work/job information onto an activity sheet for tracking purposes. Perform quality controls on the assigned machine/ equipment.
• Operate assigned equipment/machine in accordance with operating procedures.
• Control and adjust machine settings when required.
• Maintain knowledge of safety equipment.
• Ensure that the area and the machine is kept in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
