Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). The Role

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to support our Medical Devices (MD) Research Centre. The Administrative Assistant would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The Administrative Assistant provides general administrative support within an NRC Research Centre or a corporate branch or program. Some of the duties of the position include: coordinating meetings (including events and seminars); making travel arrangements; preparing correspondence, reports and presentations; establishing and maintaining filing systems and responding to routine enquiries.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards.

Post-secondary education in administration may be considered an asset.

Experience

  • Experience providing administrative support services such as arranging meetings, making travel arrangements and processing claims, creating and maintaining files and data entry.

  • Significant* experience with MS Office suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Experience in providing administrative support services at a senior management level.

  • Experience in processing purchase requisitions for office supplies, equipment or services

  • Experience using SAP software or another similar ERP system would be an asset.

  • Significant means a minimum of 2 years experience.

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices such as file preparation and maintenance, meeting organization, travel arrangements and data entry.

  • Ability to draft, proofread and edit documents and correspondence.

  • Ability to carry out tasks with precision and attention to detail.

  • Ability to gather and provide information, explain processes and respond to routine inquiries regarding administrative procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to manage a number of files in parallel, set priorities and meet deadlines.

Compensation

From $49,665 to $65,854 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
