1.0 FTE in the area of Montessori Kindergarten Teacher
This temporarycontract position is effective September 1, 2025 until June 26, 2026 or upon the return of the incumbent whichever comes first.
While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.

Montessori Teacher
- Must have certification for Montessori teaching at this grade level (Preference will be given to candidates having AMI, MACTE or ST. NICHOLAS training.
- Hold Montessori philosophy as their own
- Understand the benefits of having this alternative program within the School District
- Be able to present the BC curriculum in a manner in keeping with Montessori Philosophy
- Be creative, energetic and able to think beyond the four classroom walls (supported by examples of personal experience)
- have the ability to work collaboratively with other Montessori staff and school staff as this position is one of five Montessori classrooms in a mid-size elementary school.
- Posses a valid BC Teaching Certificate, membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teachers Qualification Card.
