About the Job
Are you a seasoned finance professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and environmental impact? We’re looking for a Senior Financial Controller to join our growing Organics Division—a team that powers sustainable solutions through industrial composting, mulch production, and potting soil manufacturing.
In this role, you'll take ownership of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a division with a mission. You’ll work alongside a dynamic leadership team, providing critical financial insights that drive operational efficiency and long-term growth.
Based out of our Arthur or Caledon location, with weekly travel to both Arthur and Caledon.
Salary range: $110,000 to $120,000, based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the preparation, review, and in-depth analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Overseeing the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledger accounts to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Producing clear and actionable financial reports and variance analyses for senior management.
- Ensuring ERP accuracy in manufacturing data processing and reporting.
- Driving the annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes.
- Managing year-end audits and preparing supporting documentation.
- Completing corporate tax returns and ensuring compliance with regulatory filings.
- Participating in strategic meetings with operations, finance, and senior leadership teams.
- Strengthening internal financial controls and safeguarding the reliability of reporting systems.
- Supervising and mentoring a team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and accountability.
Here’s What You Need
We're looking for a confident, detail-oriented finance leader with:
- A CPA designation (required).
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle experience preferred) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, conditional formatting, data analysis tools).
- Experience leading direct reports and managing workflows.
- A valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence in good standing (travel between Caledon and Arthur required).
- Industry experience in logistics, trucking, or resource recovery is considered a strong asset.
