About the role

Preference will be given to qualified regular part-time employees within the Part Time Support Staff bargaining unit at Sheridan College. Should a suitable candidate not be found, external candidates will be considered.

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the Outreach Student Recruitment Associate is responsible for promoting Sheridan College to prospective students and key influencers through dynamic, community-based outreach. Acting as a front-line ambassador, the incumbent engages with high schools, community organizations, and the public across Ontario, delivering presentations and representing Sheridan at events that drive awareness, applications, and enrolment.

This position supports the critical first point-of-contact experience with prospective learners and their support networks, providing accurate program and admissions information, and facilitating access to Sheridan’s academic offerings and student services. With a strong customer service mindset and outgoing disposition, the Outreach Student Recruitment Associate helps position Sheridan as a college of choice within Ontario’s postsecondary landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Professionally representing Sheridan College at high school visits, post-secondary fairs, and community events across Ontario to improve brand awareness and reputation and increase prospective student reach;

  • Delivering compelling presentations and live panel discussions for prospective students, parents, and educators;

  • Supporting the execution of off-campus recruitment initiatives including logistics, setup, and materials preparation for events and activations of various scales;

  • Providing detailed information on all Sheridan programs, admissions, and support services across various environments and audiences;

  • Inputting and maintaining data within Sheridan’s CRM system, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely engagement tracking;

  • Participating in follow-up and outreach campaigns as required to support lead nurturing and application conversion;

  • Collaborating with full-time Recruitment staff to assess the ROI of outreach activities;

  • Participating in collection of event and materials feedback to evaluate and identify opportunities;

  • Performing supporting administrative duties related to inventory and data management, communications, and reporting;

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

About You

You have excellent communication and presentation skills and thrive in public-facing roles.

You are highly organized, self-directed, and energized by meaningful interactions that connect prospective students to opportunities for self-discovery and growth.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of an advanced diploma or degree in Business, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience;

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in higher education student recruitment, or experience with sales and/or marketing, preferably in a post-secondary environment;

  • A valid G class driver’s license and willingness/availability to travel in province, occasionally for extended periods of time;

  • Exceptional interpersonal and public-speaking skills;

  • Refined written communication skills;

  • Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgement and problem-solving skills to assess, navigate and respond to situational needs;

  • Proficiency with Office 365, multimedia technology, data collection and customer service management (CRM) software;

  • A thorough understanding of Ontario’s education sector, current issues, trends, and legislation.
