BASIC CUSTODIAN

We are accepting applications for the following permanent part-time 0.50 FTE Basic Custodian at Milverton Public School (Milverton, Ontario).
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week, for a total of 4 hours per day, 12 months per year, shift work may be involved.
The Basic Custodian duties may include:
Building Maintenance
- change lights
- shovel snow
- operate snow blower
- clean and inspect roof
- operate grass cutting equipment
- perform minor repairs
- conduct health and safety checks
- service roof top unit
Building Cleaning
- operate and maintain all equipment
- perform all minor and major cleaning
The ideal candidate should possess:
- the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding;
- mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry;
- exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills;
- the ability to use a computer e.g. GAFE;
- experience in handling machinery i.e. buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers;
- knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies; and,
- satisfactory attendance will be a consideration when awarding this position.
Note - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.
Compensation Package Details:
Rate of Pay: $25.10 - $25.59 in accordance with the Basic Custodian grid, UNIFOR Collective Agreement
Pension Plan: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System ()
