Job Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for optimizing production schedules, inventories, and material requirements by constantly evaluating current inventory levels, demand, lead times, work in progress, production capacity, while considering costs, obsolescence, product life cycles and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Planner drives, promotes and develops positive communication with Shop floor manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and optimize the master production schedule based on historical data, seasonality and sales opportunity.
  • Optimize inventory levels to update production schedules & material requirements as needed.
  • Track/monitor daily material supply, shop floor manufacturing work orders, and customer orders, to initiate appropriate push/pull actions.
  • Lead inventory analysis and supply programs to improve inventory cycles, lead times and cash cycle.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Quality Assurance to facilitate integration of Engineering Change Notifications.
  • Monitor and assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
  • Lead Daily meetings to prioritize production needs.
  • Other duties/tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education relevant to the position
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of Master Scheduling experience in a rapidly evolving “job shop” manufacturing environment driven by innovations & product developments.
  • Organizational and problem solving skills required
  • Prior experience/knowledge of Intuitive, Plex or Syspro ERP systems preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hands on “shop floor” self-starter; understands lean manufacturing principles
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Fluent in French and English
  • Relevant experience in new ERP implementation
