Building and Grounds Equipment Asset Inventory

Duration: Approximately 6 Weeks (Funding has been provided through the Ministry of Education Learn and Work Program)

Location: Belleville, Ontario

Schedule: 36 hours per week (Monday through Thursday)

Salary: $17.20 per hour

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 38 in-person schools (thirty-one elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Some of the Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the comprehensive inventory of building and grounds equipment assets including storm sewers, catch basins, sanitary lines, baseball diamonds, tracks, jump pits, accessibility information (parking lots, playgrounds) through identification, documentation, coding, and analysis.
  • Lead the input of collected data into the digital inventory system, document on mapping, and generate reports on asset condition.
  • Work with the Lead Hand Preventative Maintenance on preventive maintenance schedules, and working closely with custodial and maintenance staff, and the capital data management specialist.

Requirements:

  • This position is made available through the Learn and Work (L&W) program, and to be eligible for this position students must have completed a cooperative education placement(s), and must be 15 years of age upon commencement of employment.
  • Must possess demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
