About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Technology and IT Service Management team. The successful incumbent will have a desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment. In this role, you will provide primary and secondary BSA support for a suite of business systems through issue tracking, problem determination and resolution, documentation, testing and change management.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, including management, IT teams, to gather requirements. Facilitate workshop and interviews with stakeholders to capture detailed system requirements and user needs
- Participate in the design, implementation and enhancement of pension systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with the business teams to identify process improvements and define business requirements.
- Collaborate with the teams to make recommendations and design optimal business processes that will meet both current and future needs of the organization.
- Drive the implementation of new processes and tools, ensuring seamless adoption, optimal performance, and alignment with evolving technology. Monitor customer satisfaction and provide follow-up support.
- Analyze technical issues, deploy timely solutions, and assign appropriate resources to prevent recurrence. Maintain robust documentation and support controlled changes via Change Management protocols.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis, generate reports, and deliver actionable insights using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL) to enhance business productivity and efficiency.
- Oversee application maintenance, security, and enhancements—coordinating updates, patches, and troubleshooting with vendors and users. Provide after-hours support as needed.
- Mentor junior analysts, develop user manuals, and train stakeholders on new functionalities or system changes. Manage testing in pre-production environments to ensure stability.
To Succeed, You Bring:
- Over eight (8) years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with a significant portion in the pension system. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully managing initiatives.
- A solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall), and integration methods.
- An in-depth understanding of business processes, industry trends, and the ability to align technology solutions with long-term business goals.
- An In-depth understanding of Canadian pension regulations, compliance and industry best practices
- Expertise in pension software systems, database management and Azure Cloud technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Possesses leading-edge technical knowledge and proficiency in business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques
