The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for maintaining and supporting systems, processes, and documentation within the finance team.

Duties and responsibilities

• Key Activities

• Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department.

• Prepare month end and quarter end financial reports and bank covenants

• Review and resolve issues in emails received from internal and external customers

• Assist in payroll processing.

• Maintain orderly financial filing system.

• Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Accounting Team.

• Reconcile bank transactions and month end close

• Assist in preparing WSIB and EHT remittances

• Analyze cash flow and operating budgets.

• Analyzing and reporting cost variances

• Coordination of client billing, cash receipts, and collection management

• Prepare and file HST returns

• Assist with audit preparation and year end taxes

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls.

• INTERACTION

This position requires communication with various venders, Sponsors, banks and Transpharmation employees.

Generally working in a typical interior office work environment.

There will be occasional periods of several hours per day performing physically repetitive procedures (typing, filing etc.). There is also a potential for digital eye strain resulting from prolonged computer use.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE

• EDUCATION

• College diploma in accounting

• EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years full-cycle accounting experience

• 2 years payroll experience

• 1-5 years NetSuite experience (nice to have)

• Advanced understanding of Excel

• 1-2 years project experience

• 3-5 years reporting experience

• Knowledge

• Good understanding of accounting principles and leading-edge business practices
