To help our company move to the next level and enable us to build an even more compelling education experience, we are looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer.

We’re looking for an experienced quality engineering leader to own our high standard of excellence of the Knowledgehook platform, partnering with colleagues in design and product management to lead quality assurance through manual testing and software automation in order to support world class learning experiences for learners everywhere.

What you will be doing

  • Maintaining and Enhancing a state of the art and fairly newly built E2E infrastructure built on Playwright
  • Though mostly a technical lead role, you'll also manage a small team of Quality Engineers
  • In this role you will build, enable, empower, and develop a team of deeply-motivated, outstanding engineers
  • You will partner with other engineering leaders to make sure our product architecture, performance, and quality meet the needs of our users, and that our engineers are empowered and supported with tools and processes to efficiently deliver amazing user experiences
  • You are an accomplished and respected technical leader, a collaborative problem-solver, and you help align vision across the organization
  • You are passionate about delivering great learning experiences and will dive into deeply understanding pedagogy to help develop an additive point of view
  • Quality engineering managers at Knowledgehook are close to the code and thrive in a technical environment

What you need to succeed

  • A desire to change the world
  • A very strong technical background, a software engineer first
  • At least 7 years of experience as a software developer, or a quality automation engineer
  • At least 3 years in a QE lead position
  • Deep Playwright or Screenplay pattern experience
  • An outstanding track record of delivering results
  • Familiarity with and a track record of using effective product development processes that you can teach
  • The ability to motivate and drive a talented, creative, and technical team
  • Experience managing a remote team
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written — we are a remote team and communication is critical
  • To command technical respect — you can dive into technical discussions and deeply understand and influence the decision making process
  • To excel at giving and receiving feedback
  • Experience with usage of AI in testing a nice to have

Currently, we build with Angular, C#, Nodejs, and SQL Server, and we adopt new technologies when they’ll help us better achieve our goals.
