Role Description The Apprentice role at Sureway Metal Systems Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Langdon, AB. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting experienced tradespeople with metal fabrication, welding, and processing tasks, such as measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing metal components. The Apprentice supports equipment setup and basic operation of machinery under supervision, helps maintain a clean and organized work area, and follows safety procedures and company standards at all times. This role also involves learning to interpret drawings and work orders, preparing materials, and contributing to production targets by completing assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Over time, the Apprentice is expected to develop technical skills and industry knowledge through hands-on training and guidance from senior team members. Qualifications Candidates should possess basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in metal fabrication, welding, and industrial manufacturing. Candidates should possess the ability to read and understand measurements, use hand and power tools safely, and follow technical instructions or drawings. Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess reliable time management, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a willingness to take direction and learn new skills. Candidates should possess a commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to PPE requirements and safe work practices. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in or interest in an apprenticeship program or relevant trade training is an asset. Candidates should possess physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods, with appropriate accommodations where needed. Candidates should possess previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment as an asset, along with a valid driver’s license for commuting to the Langdon, AB site.
