Position Description CGI is seeking a passionate AI and Data Solution Specialist to join our growing Atlantic Canada team. In this role, you will help clients unlock the value of their data by designing and implementing innovative Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and advanced analytics solutions that solve complex business challenges. Working alongside data scientists, software developers, solution architects, business consultants, and client stakeholders, you will develop scalable AI solutions, build predictive models, apply Generative AI techniques, and transform data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This opportunity is ideal for a technology professional with a strong foundation in data science, machine learning, and cloud technologies who enjoys solving real-world business problems using modern AI capabilities. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite. Your future duties and responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy scalable data science and AI solutions using Python and modern machine learning frameworks. Develop predictive models, forecasting solutions, and advanced analytics to support business decision-making. Apply Generative AI and prompt engineering techniques to automate business processes and enhance operational efficiency. Perform data preparation, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical analysis. Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business problems into AI-driven solutions. Develop Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions, including text analytics, sentiment analysis, and language modeling. Integrate AI models with enterprise applications using REST APIs and cloud-based services. Participate in Agile delivery teams, contributing to solution design, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and client deliverables while promoting AI and data engineering best practices. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. 3 or more years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Strong programming skills using Python. Experience with machine learning libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks. Experience working with SQL and relational databases. Experience building dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. Understanding of Generative AI, prompt engineering, and modern AI development practices. Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP), deep learning, or time series forecasting. Experience working within Agile software development environments. Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. Assets The following qualifications would be considered assets: Experience with Full Stack software development. Experience with RESTful APIs and backend application development. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop. Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms. Contributions to open-source projects or published research. Experience working with enterprise AI, Generative AI, or Large Language Model (LLM) solutions. CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$110,000 CAD.
