Overview We are seeking a dynamic Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team in Steinbach! We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administration of employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and company policies. This position plays a key role in supporting employees by maintaining confidential records, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a seamless payroll and benefits experience. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process full-cycle payroll for multiple companies on a weekly basis Maintain payroll records including new hires, terminations, wage changes, and deductions Verify timesheets, hours worked, and payroll adjustments Administer statutory deductions (CPP, EI, income tax) and ensure timely remittances Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) in compliance with Service Canada requirements Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies Support year-end processes including T4 preparation and distribution Benefits Administration Administer group benefits programs (health, dental, LTD, life insurance, HSA, EAP, RRSP) Coordinate enrollments, changes, and terminations Act as liaison between employees and benefits providers Respond to employee inquiries regarding coverage, claims, and eligibility Maintain accurate benefits records and support annual renewals Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, employment standards, and privacy requirements Stay current with federal and provincial regulations (Manitoba/Alberta preferred) Assist with payroll and benefits audits Prepare reports including RRSP/DPSP contributions, Health & Education Tax Levy, and WCB reporting Recruitment & HR Support Assist with recruitment including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination Attend job fairs and support candidate engagement Support onboarding and offboarding processes Maintain employee records and assist with HR documentation and initiatives Health & Safety Support Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and documentation Support WCB claims administration and return-to-work coordination Employee Support Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries in a professional and timely manner Provide guidance on policies and procedures related to pay and benefits Qualifications Diploma or certification in Payroll, Human Resources, or related field PCP designation (or working towards) is an asset 2–3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation (Manitoba/Alberta preferred) Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Payworks or similar) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and HRIS systems Skills & Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Join us in this exciting opportunity to shape our employee experience through effective payroll management and innovative benefits programs! Requirements
