Overview Participates as a member of the Supply Chain Management Group, and performs supply chain logistics functions for the Thermal and Hydro regions as well as maintenance support functions to the Head Office. Functions include inventory management and control in accordance with company policies and procedures, purchasing and tender process management. This includes receiving / shipping of goods, including hazardous waste and dangerous goods, stock from internal and external sources, providing stock management and inventory control, co-ordinating air and ground transportation to all plants. Ensures all work is performed in accordance with Corporation policy and procedures and Canadian regulations and standards such as WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods ground and air. Provides support services to ensure that all incoming and outgoing mail, including the Corporation’s customer billings, is processed and delivered on a timely basis. Responsibilities Inventory management and control in accordance with company policies and procedures and purchasing. Receiving / shipping of goods including hazardous waste and dangerous goods, stock from internal and external sources Coordinates ground and air transportation for staff and materials to Thermal and Hydro Region satellite plants. Assists as necessary with the operation of all equipment used in and around storeroom such as forklift, pallet jack, pickup truck, and loader. Participate in the continuous improvement of the Health & Safety program, Environment program as well as NTPC’s safety culture. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED plus seven years of related warehousing experience is required. Equivalencies may be considered. Able to exercise judgement in purchasing decisions in the best interests of the Corporation. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS certifictions required. Must be experienced in the operation of loader and operation of forklift. Valid class 5 NT driver’s licence is required. Knowledge and understanding of transportation routing and logistics via water, air, and road. Must be familiar with the local market and will appraise and forecast changes that impact the Corporation. Must be organized, reliable and committed to performing quality work within deadlines. Must provide a successful Criminal Records Check prior to commencing work for NTPC. This is a bargaining unit position. Salary for this position ranges from $50.05/hr-$60.81/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum. Requirements
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and at least seven years of related warehousing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, valid WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods certifications, and a valid class 5 driver's license are required.
