The Opportunity The Incoming Quality Inspector Level I is responsible for inspecting products across departmental boundaries on issues related to manufactured / purchased parts / components. They inspect manufactured / purchased parts from secondary operations to ensure the highest quality parts and assemblies are inventoried for RAD’s product line. Incoming Quality Inspector Level I will initiate a non-conformance report for all products that do not meet RAD’s quality standards. They ensure manpower levels; inspection equipment, drawings, programs, and equipment are available to inspect the parts needed in a timely fashion. Incoming Quality Inspector Level I will also constantly provide support on improving employee productivity, overall manufacturing throughput, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency. FTE at 40 hours per week. The role will be Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The Role and Responsibilities Leadership Understands and can clearly communicate RAD purpose, values, internally and externally. Attends daily huddle with assembly staff team and assist with the development of the daily planned work. Maintains a clean and respectful workplace. Incoming Quality Control / Inventory Control: Communicates RAD purpose, values, internally and externally. Works with Incoming Quality Control Supervisor on daily inspection and initiate non conformance reports. Ensures integrity and accuracy of the Incoming Quality Inspection / inventory system. Works co-operatively with other departments to optimize delivery times of parts and assemblies, communicating cross-functionality to achieve targets. Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all Incoming Quality Inspection / inventory control processes and functions, through others as needed. Other duties as assigned The Qualifications Minimum education: High School Diploma. Post-Secondary training in Mechanical Inspection or machining considered an asset. Experience 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical inspection of precision machined parts is an asset. Experience with and knowledge of MRP / ERP systems, specifically incoming quality control / inventory control is an asset. 1-2 years’ experience in dealing with outside vendors and secondary operations is an asset Skills Able to read and understand mechanical drawings in addition to GDT and finishing requirements. Knowledge of machined parts, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge blocks, gauge pins, bore gauges, mechanical drawings is an asset. Able to perform detailed visual inspections. Familiar with batch sampling and non-conformances. Ability to manage around tight deadlines and still get it right. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
