Accountabilities
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for improving infrastructure reliability, automation maturity, and delivery processes across complex technology environments. This role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to design scalable solutions while maintaining security and operational excellence. Review and maintain code across multiple repositories, improving quality, documentation, and long-term maintainability. Analyze existing infrastructure projects and create improvement plans focused on documentation, testing, and operational efficiency. Increase AWS infrastructure test coverage and establish stronger validation practices across repositories. Design, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes. Lead DevOps best practices across engineering teams, including source control standards, code reviews, and release management. Architect and manage AWS cloud environments with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance. Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK. Build and support containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Create reusable, tested modules and libraries that can be adopted by engineering teams. Integrate security practices into infrastructure design, development workflows, and operational processes. Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting strategies using modern observability tools. Diagnose complex system and performance issues through structured debugging and analytical approaches. Collaborate with engineering, product, and technical stakeholders to improve delivery outcomes. Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across teams. Participate in on-call support activities to resolve critical issues and maintain service reliability.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced DevOps professional with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and software delivery practices. You should have excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives while working effectively with distributed teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Extensive professional experience in DevOps engineering with strong Python programming skills. Proven experience delivering production systems with a strong focus on Infrastructure-as-Code. Experience building and maintaining reusable automation modules, libraries, and infrastructure components. 4+ years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices and tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. Strong experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture principles. Expertise with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. Strong knowledge of Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews, and development standards. Experience designing and managing infrastructure systems across cloud and server environments. Familiarity with databases, authentication systems, connectivity concepts, and SQL querying. Advanced understanding of monitoring, logging, networking, security, and infrastructure management. Experience implementing test-driven development concepts, including unit, integration, and performance testing. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Availability to support global collaboration hours, primarily aligned with Eastern Time business hours. Ability to participate in on-call rotations when required.
Preferred qualifications include
Advanced certifications related to DevOps, AWS, Kubernetes, or cloud technologies. Experience prioritizing technical initiatives based on business impact. Experience creating accurate project estimates, reporting progress, and improving delivery predictability. Experience working in global, remote-first engineering environments.
