MANAGER, TOTAL REWARDS – Remote Across Canada
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team, staying close to the work and actively guiding day-to-day execution
- Take a hands-on approach, rolling up your sleeves to support complex compensation and benefits activities and ensure delivery excellence
- Oversee end-to-end execution of total rewards programs including base pay, incentive plans, benefits, and recognition initiatives
- Drive automation and process efficiency by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy
- Explore and apply emerging tools, including AI-enabled capabilities, to support smarter decision-making and operational efficiency
- Manage key annual cycles such as salary reviews, compensation planning, benchmarking, and benefits administration
- Use data and analytics to inform decisions, assess competitiveness, and connect program outcomes to enterprise strategy
- Champion self-service solutions that empower leaders and employees while improving scalability of Total Rewards programs
- Partner with leaders and People & Culture teams to provide practical, data-informed guidance on compensation and workforce decisions
- Lead and contribute to projects with a structured, outcomes-focused mindset, ensuring timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables are effectively managed
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, privacy legislation, and internal policies
- Support cross-functional initiatives (including M&A activity) with total rewards data, insights, and operational support
The Value You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards
- Proven people leadership experience with a strong interest in leading hands-on, day-to-day work
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, automation, and scalable solutions
- Curiosity and openness to leveraging AI and technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong project lead approach with the ability to prioritize, organize, and deliver across multiple workstreams
- Ability to connect detailed program work to broader enterprise strategy and business priorities
- Experience building or enhancing self-service tools, resources, or frameworks for leaders and employees
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into clear insights and recommendations
- Experience with HRIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Solid understanding of compensation benchmarking, vendor coordination, and best practices
- Post-secondary education in HR or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- CCP, CHRP/CHRL, or SHRM designation considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, business acumen, and collaborative mindset
- Experience in a sales compensation environment is an asset
