About the role
Job Summary Reporting directly to Foreperson, the Labourer will be responsible for supporting daily operations on industrial and construction sites by performing a wide range of physical tasks, assisting trades, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
The role involves material handling, equipment setup, site cleanup, tool operation, and assisting with installation and maintenance activities under supervision. The role requires adherence to all safety procedures, active participation in housekeeping efforts, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in various environmental conditions while maintaining effective communication with supervisors and team members.
The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of Lynco, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.
This temporary project-base full-time, hourly position is located within the Lloydminster region, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Duties and Responsibilities Perform general labourer duties including, but not limited to, material handling, site cleanup and equipment setup. Assist skilled trades, such as, pipefitters and welders as required. Load, unload, and move materials using manual or powered equipment. Operate basic tools, such as, grinders, drills, impact guns, and saws. Support installation and maintenance activities under supervision. Follow all safety procedures, including hazard assessments and proper person protective equipment ‘PPE’ use. Participate in site housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform physical tasks, such as, lifting, climbing, shoveling, and working in various weather conditions. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members; and Other relatable duties as required.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, fabrication facility, and/or construction environments is required. Grade twelve (12) diploma or General Education Diploma ‘GED’ equivalency is required. Valid safety certifications (e.g. H2S, Construction Safety Training System ‘CSTS’, WHMIS, Fall protection, Confined Space) depending on site requirements. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is required. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean drivers abstract are required. Pre-employment Alcohol & Drug test is required. First Aid certificate is considered an asset. Ticketed to operate equipment, such as skid steers, telehandlers, and/or forklifts is considered an asset. Ability to travel and work on all work sites without restrictions. Ability to understand and execute written and verbal directions. Ability to work within a team environment. Demonstrable knowledge of occupational hazards, signage, use of PPE, and applicable safety precautions as per industry standards. Ability to work shift work, including overtime when required. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
