Registered Nurse (RN) – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) 📍 Location: Across British Columbia, Canada 🩺 Professional Summary We are seeking experienced PACU Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide post-operative recovery care in acute care settings across British Columbia. In this role, you will ensure safe patient monitoring, stabilization, and optimal recovery outcomes.
🔹 Key Responsibilities Monitor post-anesthesia patients and assess recovery status Provide airway management, pain control, and vital monitoring Administer medications as per post-operative protocols Identify and respond to complications and emergencies Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient care standards
✅ Qualifications (British Columbia Standards) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with BCCNM PACU, Critical Care, or ER experience required Valid BLS & ACLS certifications (PALS preferred) Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia care and patient monitoring Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and adaptability
📅 Position Details Schedule: Full-time (80 hours biweekly) Shifts: Rotational shifts based on PACU needs Employment Type: Contract Pay Rate: CAD $50 – $62 per hour
