About the role
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for collecting payments on overdue accounts and contacting clients to make collection arrangements. Their duties include reviewing outstanding amounts, notifying clients of overdue payments, and compiling reports relating to collection work.
What you will do:
- Perform daily operations relating to receivables and following up for timely collection of accounts
- Document policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility
- Analyze customer accounts, identify, address and correct issues attributing to account delinquencies
- Review reconciled premiums billed and collected on behalf of insurance carriers
- Notifying clients of overdue payments and accounts by telephone and email – including timely follow up if a reply is not received
- Monitor shared AR and finance email inboxes and action requests regarding all inquiries
- Professional handling of client inquiries, including providing detailed client reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds
- Preparing reports related to collection work
What does it take?
- Completed post-secondary education in accounting/business administration is an asset
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounts receivable or collections position is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Comfortable dealing with customers and company personnel at various levels
- Bilingualism is required (English & French)
