As an Information Technology (IT) Developer with Client Solutions, Development Support Section, you will develop, test, document and implement new software functionality, contribute to the support of existing applications, and provide creative and innovative solutions in response to client's business needs. Primary duties include:

• Develop and update code and documentation, perform testing and quality assurance, and implement new software functionality and applications.
• Participate, as a member of a team, in identifying clients' business needs and developing creative and innovative solutions that match business needs with application functionality.
• Provide technical expertise to peers and clients in the form of user manuals and training on issues such as user acceptance testing.
• Research projects aligned with best practices such as secure software development, software quality automation tools, applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC).
• Support IT delivery through the monitor of Remedy IT service ticket queue, investigate issues, identify root causes and support remediation.
• Develop estimates and timelines on work required considering issues such as complexity and track actual to estimated amounts.

Qualifications

• A completed 2 year technical diploma such as Information Technology.
• Experience with C#, JavaScript, Python and Power Platform is essential.
• Previous experience with automated testing with Unit Tests and functional tests as part of SLDC.
• Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps is essential.
• Demonstrated experience with setting up projects and automations along with exposure to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) best practices with the tools to support SLDC.
• Experience with the use of AI technologies in software development.
• Understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure architecture, functionalities and configurations is an asset.
• The successful applicant will have a strong customer focus, the ability to work independently and collaborate with team members and other interested parties.
• Excellent organizational skills that support the completion of multiple competing priorities.

Workstyle

• This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees.
