We are currently seeking an Industrial Electrical Estimator to join our team, supporting projects across both Draw Energy and Trotter & Morton Building Technologies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach, looking to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization.

Roles and Responsibilities
-
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for industrial electrical and instrumentation projects within Agriculture & Process Solutions.

Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed scopes of work.

Perform quantity take-offs, labour and material costing, and subcontractor pricing analysis.

Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value and compliance with project requirements.

Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies during the
estimating process. -
Collaborate with operations, project managers, and technical teams to validate assumptions and ensure constructability.

Participate in bid reviews, strategy meetings, and client discussions as required.

Maintain and update estimating databases, unit rates, and historical cost information.

Support project handover to operations, ensuring clear communication of scope, inclusions, and exclusions.

Stay current with market conditions, material pricing, labour trends, and industry best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills

Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and instrumentation, particularly within agriculture and process environments.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications with a high level of accuracy.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Commercial awareness and ability to assess project risk and profitability.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

3–7+ years of experience in industrial electrical estimating, preferably within agriculture, food processing, or similar process-driven industries.

Hands-on experience with electrical and instrumentation systems in an industrial setting is considered an asset.

Knowledge of construction practices, contracts, and project delivery methods.

Experience working with estimating software and ERP/project management systems is an asset.

Journeyperson Electrician certification or related trade background is considered a strong asset.
Required Experience

Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

3–7+ years of experience in industrial electrical estimating, preferably within agriculture, food processing, or similar process-driven industries.
