Silver Springs Golf & Country Club is a private, member-owned golf and dining facility located in Calgary, Alberta. The Club aspires to provide the best possible member and guest experience both on and off the golf course. Silver Springs is ideally situated on an expansive, 290-acre property in north-west Calgary, only minutes from the downtown core. The Club continues to craft a culture of service and remarkable care that clearly extends throughout the golf course, the recently renovated clubhouse and through quality member service and events.
The Club has recently embarked on an aggressive multi-year strategic plan that focuses on: · Operational Excellence – conducting our business operations to provide exceptional service and a quality experience to our members and guests. · A Quality Golf Course – maintaining our course to a high standard of conditioning and fit & finish · Financial Excellence – maximizing revenues and effectively managing expenses all while balancing the member experience. · Brand Awareness – building our Club’s brand within the Calgary and Alberta golf marketplace to continue to attract new members.
Position Summary The Membership & Communications Manager is responsible for leading the Club’s marketing, communications, and membership growth strategy while overseeing all member-facing communications and engagement initiatives. This role serves as the central point for the Club’s brand storytelling, member experience, and club communication, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with the Club’s strategic objectives.
In addition to managing day-to-day communications, this role plays a key part in driving membership growth, supporting revenue objectives, and enhancing the overall member journey—from initial inquiry through retention.
The position works closely with the General Manager, Board, and all department heads to coordinate messaging, lead cross-functional initiatives, and deliver a high standard of communication across all platforms.
Responsibilities Communications · Own all member-facing communications including email newsletters, weekly updates, print materials, signage, and digital content · Act as central communications lead across all departments including Golf Operations, Turf, Food & Beverage, Administration, and Events · Write, design, and distribute communications ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with Club tone and brand standards, logo, and visual identity · Attend and participate in member events to strengthen visibility and relationships · Working on updating department materials such as menus, program booklets, and other items as necessary
Marketing · Support promotion and execution of Club events, tournaments, and member activities · Create promotional materials, recaps, and storytelling content to enhance engagement and participation · Maintain and update website content and digital communications platforms in collaboration with department heads · Ensure all communications reflect a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and engagement · Develop and execute annual marketing and membership growth strategies aligned with Club objectives and revenue targets · Develop, manage, and analyze social media engagement for the Club · Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of Calgary-area clubs to identify market trends, benchmark offerings, and recommend strategic opportunities for growth
Membership · Assist the team with membership sales, from initial inquiry through onboarding, engagement, and long-term retention · Conduct member and prospective member tours, consultations, and follow-ups to support conversion and satisfaction · Develop and deliver member packages, handbooks, onboarding, and orientation programs for members · Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and member data to identify opportunities for growth and retention · Build and maintain strong relationships with members, committees, and stakeholders through proactive communication and service excellence · Serve as the primary liaison to the Membership Committee, coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and executing action items to support committee objectives · Collaborate with the Board, management, and Club committees to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support long-term Club objectives and strategic investments · Gather and analyze member feedback through surveys and engagement tools to inform continuous improvement
Qualifications · Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail · Proven experience in marketing, communications, membership, hospitality, or related fields · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously · Experience in content creation, copywriting, and brand communication · Proficiency with digital tools and platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, etc) · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups · Energetic, friendly, upbeat personality · Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach · Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment · Passion for delivering high-quality member or customer experiences · Golf industry or private club experience considered a strong asset

Job Type and Hours This is a full-time, year-round permanent position, with hours being Monday – Friday as well as evenings or weekends as required. Work location is in-person.
