What You'll Be Doing As a Water Damage Restoration Technician, you will respond to emergency calls throughout Calgary and perform professional restoration services that help minimize property damage and return homes and businesses to pre-loss condition. Your responsibilities will include: Responding to emergency water damage, flood, and sewer backup restoration calls Inspecting affected properties and assessing the extent of water damage Performing water extraction using professional restoration equipment Setting up, monitoring, and adjusting drying equipment including air movers and dehumidifiers Recording moisture readings and documenting drying progress Removing damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinetry, and other affected building materials when required Performing controlled demolition safely and efficiently Cleaning and sanitizing affected areas following industry standards Maintaining accurate job documentation, photos, and daily reports Communicating professionally with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and office staff Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and restoration equipment Following company safety procedures and industry best practices

Qualifications We're looking for candidates who have: Previous experience in water damage restoration, flood restoration, or emergency property restoration A valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills The ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative team Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform demanding work throughout the day Availability to work on-call, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight emergency calls when required Excellent communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are considered strong assets but are not required: IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) certification Experience using commercial drying equipment and moisture mapping tools Experience with Xactimate, Encircle, or other restoration documentation software Previous construction, demolition, or restoration experience Candidates without IICRC certifications are encouraged to apply if they have relevant experience.
