Our Edmonton head office is currently seeking a Junior Occupational Hygienist to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate will bring the following qualifications:
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or diploma in Environmental Science (various disciplines), Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene or related field;
- Working towards certification as a CRST (Canadian Registered Safety Technician) or ROHT (Registered Occupational Hygiene Technologist);
- Experience in the occupational hygiene field, including hazardous building material assessments, abatement monitoring, and air quality sampling, preferably within a consulting environment;
- Valid driver’s license and driving experience is required (work-related travel will be compensated); and
- Ability to travel throughout Alberta and work out of town for periods of up to two weeks, depending on project needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and execution of indoor air quality, occupational hygiene, and hazardous building material assessments;
- Review and interpret data and contribute to technical reporting;
- Communicate effectively with team members and senior project managers;
- Liaise with third-party contractors including but not limited to laboratory service providers and regulatory agencies;
- Safety training such as First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, TDG, Confined Space, Asbestos Worker Certificate and H2S Alive is considered an asset.
