Description
The Director of Project Management and ITSM Governance is the principal person in charge in support CIO with the enterprise strategic planning and execution of large-scale technology initiatives, team leadership, governance, and aligning IT projects with core business objectives. As the principal IT liaison interacting with Keolis North America Transformation Office and operating division in collaborations of joint project initiatives and ensures that project management and IT service management practices are standardized, effective, and aligned with organizational goals, enabling successful delivery of IT and business initiatives.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Alignment: Define the strategic direction for IT programs and projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and drive business value. This includes advising senior management on technology needs and opportunities. Program and Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of multiple, complex, and often interconnected projects (e.g., cloud migrations, software development, infrastructure upgrades) across the entire lifecycle. Leadership and Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of project managers, architects, and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Governance and Process Improvement: Establish, implement, and enforce project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and quality standards across the organization or a specific business unit. Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, cross-functional internal teams (sales, engineering, operations), clients, and third-party vendors, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication. Budget and Financial Oversight: Develop, manage, and forecast multi-million dollar budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints while optimizing resource allocation. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively, developing contingency plans and escalating major concerns to executive management. Compliance and Security: Ensure all projects and operations comply with relevant legal, regulatory, security, and internal policy standard.
Knowledge And Experience
Proven leadership and team management abilities. Strong project management expertise and a deep understanding of project management lifecycles and methodologies. Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with project management tools and software. Knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, and technology standards. A bachelor's degree in a related field like computer science, information systems, or project management is often required, along with extensive experience. Professional certifications, PMP, ITIL V4 Foundation, and ITIL V4 Strategist Direct/Plan/Improve are required. ITIL V5 Transformation and ITIL V5 Foundation are a plus.

Position Type
Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week). Office located in Edmonton or Calgary. Hybrid (on-site Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). Travel: Maintain working relationships with internal and external entities, involving approximately 35% travel for post-award activities, mobilizations, and service delivery.
