About the role
Position SummaryThe Sales & Estimating Manager will oversee both the Estimating and Sales functions for the Commercial Glazing and Hollow Metal Door divisions. This leadership role is responsible for managing the estimating team, developing business strategies, cultivating client relationships, and driving growth in existing and new markets. The position requires a balance of hands-on estimating, team leadership, and strategic business development.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management- Lead, mentor, and manage the Estimating Team; allocate workload, oversee performance, and ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Review and approve estimates, quotes, and tender packages prepared by the team prior to submittal.
- Provide technical guidance and support to estimators and sales staff.
- Collaborate with senior management to set sales budgets, targets, and strategic growth objectives.Sales & Business Development- Identify, qualify, and vet new project opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and suppliers.
- Attend networking events, industry trade shows, and client meetings to promote the company’s services.
- Assist with developing strategies to expand business into new regions and markets.
- Support marketing and sales initiatives as required.Estimating & Project Support- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates, budgets, and proposals for Commercial Glazing and Hollow Metal Door projects.
- Oversee the preparation of takeoffs and estimates, ensuring consistency and competitiveness.
- Review contracts, accepted quotations, and work orders for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist Operations with pricing extras, credits, or technical clarifications as needed.Other Responsibilities- Maintain awareness of industry trends, materials, and techniques through seminars and training.
- Travel as required for business development, client meetings, and project support.
- Perform other relevant tasks and responsibilities as required to support the role and company goals.Qualifications- Construction/Civil Technology Diploma, Estimating Certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in estimating large Commercial Glazing and Hollow Metal Door projects.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and technical knowledge of glazing and door systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software (e.g., Salesforce, estimating tools).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.
