Position Scope:
The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Heavy Equipment Trainer with large earthworks construction/mining project experience.

We offer:
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotations; 12-hour days (various rotations - depending on site)
- Fly in and Fly out
- Competitive hourly rate with Overtime pay at (1.5x)

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Train heavy equipment operators at multiple training locations and remote project sites for heavy civil construction, mining, and or road building projects, using equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, and haul trucks etc.
- Provides a variety of training methods and settings, including classroom instruction, field training, and heavy equipment simulators.
- Oversee and administer the site’s Safety Program on a daily basis.
- Assess qualifications and on-the-job training of all new personnel prior to operating heavy equipment.
- Ensure training complies with health and safety protocols, applicable laws and regulations, and site-specific procedures.
- Maintain training records.
- Liaise with inspectors, safety officers, Site Superintendent, and Corporate Environment, Health & Safety Manager in development and maintenance of training programs.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Trainer.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
- Must possess a current Class 5 Driver's License and be able to provide a recent Driver's Abstract.
- Knowledge and experience with mining/construction projects, particularly in Northern Canada and/or remote project sites; experience living in Northern Canada is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills; and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to create, maintain and perform data management in Excel spreadsheets is a requirement.
- Excellent leadership skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly to workers and leaders.
