School District 46 is hiring for a Teacher of the Hard of Hearing, effective September 1, 2026. This two day/week position will support students in the district as required. The successful applicant will also be welcome to apply for the Teacher Teaching On-Call list.
The Successful Candidate Will
have training and experience (Masters degree, graduate diploma, post baccalaureate or degree) in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education; have knowledge and skill in audiology assessment and functional hearing assessment; knowledge and skill in developing IEPs, Safety Plans and Behaviour Support Plans for students with hearing impairments; work with and train EAs and teachers in working with children with hearing impairment; be willing to work collaboratively and liaise extensively with parents, inter-ministerial professionals, and Principals; and provide evidence of the successful application of instructional and professional skills (as per Article E.27.3 of the collective agreement).
Qualifications
Applicants must have experience and coursework. Evidence of the successful application of instructional and professional skills (as per Article E.27.3 of the collective agreement) must be provided. The prorated salary is estimated to be between $25,338 and $46.476, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications, in accordance with the collective agreement.
