Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and effective communication. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children, and families. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to enhance communication with diverse communities.
Duties
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members regarding developmental progress and classroom activities.
- Document children's progress through written reports and records, demonstrating strong writing skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that meet program standards and individual needs.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding less experienced staff or interns when necessary.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure all daily responsibilities are completed within scheduled hours.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or childcare settings is preferred.
- Experience working with children of various ages, including those with special needs or disabilities, is highly desirable.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset to support diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks, teaching methodologies, and child development principles is essential.
- Strong communication skills?both verbal and written?are required for effective interaction with children, families, and team members.
- Familiarity with computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tasks is necessary.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently are important qualities for success in this role.
Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
