We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Obstetrics department at Wring Memorial Hospital.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.

The Registered Nurse - Perinatal, working collaboratively with the inter-professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods and other assigned patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Northern Health provides placement support and funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses for clinical placements, as required Learners should expect to make a 4 – 6 month commitment for this education, which includes online and in-person learning Additional study time, outside of scheduled hours, will be required to successfully complete the program Flexibility for practicums is necessary Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department 6 months recent acute care experience required Upon successful completion of the education program, Northern Health requires an eighteen (18) month return of service in a regular position in the area of nursing applicable to the education program. Qualified applicants will be considered first for specialty positions. If there are no qualified applicants, training lines will be awarded to unqualified applicants and training will be provided

SCHEDULING INFO: Education: Monday - Friday/ 8 AM - 4 PM Practicum: Based on unit scheduling. The rotations/ start and stop times may vary dependant upon unit scheduling and education.
