Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent and the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success, the successful candidate will provide system-level leadership in mathematics, overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional practices across schools. The role includes coordinating a team of math facilitators and intervention teachers, guiding their work to support high-quality instruction and improved student outcomes. They are responsible for setting direction, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with curriculum expectations, board priorities, and system goals.
The Math Curriculum Coordinator is a key instructional leader responsible for supporting the implementation and advancement of the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario's (CDSBEO) Math Achievement Action Plan (MAAP) and Student Achievement Action Plan (SAAP).
Working in collaboration with school leaders, teachers, and system staff, the Curriculum Coordinator will help set strategic goals and actions aligned with MAAP and SAAP priorities. The Consultant will play a key role in monitoring implementation, gathering and analyzing student achievement data, and informing school and board-level planning and improvement strategies.
The Coordinator will actively participate in regular Ministry of Education meetings and will work closely with the Board Math Lead, the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success and Math Facilitators to fulfill Ministry reporting requirements and timelines. In this capacity, the coordinator will support the alignment of board initiatives with provincial goals in mathematics and overall student achievement.
As a vital member of the CDSBEO Curriculum Team, the Coordinator will also assist with school and system-level data collection and analysis related to EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) assessments, including preparation and administration processes, with an emphasis on using results to inform instructional next steps.
In addition, the Coordinator will provide direct support to classroom educators across all divisions, with a focus on mentoring teachers new to the profession through the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP). This includes offering guidance in areas such as lesson planning, differentiated instruction, assessment and evaluation practices, and effective classroom management strategies.
The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Board's mission, particularly its values of equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-oppression. Flexibility, collaboration, and responsiveness to system needs are essential, as the consultant may be called upon to support additional initiatives and tasks as directed by the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success.
