Position: Multilingual Language Learner (MLL) Consultant
Location: Kemptville Board Office or Cornwall Board Office
Salary: As per the Collective Agreement

Expertise
Catholic Curriculum with particular emphasis on Multilingual Language Learning and English as a second Language.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate;
- ESL/ELL Part 1
- Religious Education Part 1 is considered an asset;
- Basic additional qualifications in all divisions (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior) is considered an asset;
- Proficient use of Office 365, AI and Wayground are considered an asset;
- Current knowledge of literacy/numeracy initiatives in alignment with the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Literacy/Numeracy Secretariat;
- Extensive knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with the Institute for Catholic Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education;
- Demonstrated effective leadership and experience in working with board and school teams and expertise in the planning and delivery of teacher professional development.
- Ability to use tact, discretion and maintain information in the strictest of confidence.
- Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills.
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to rural schools across the CDSBEO are required.

Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent with responsibility for MLL, the successful candidate will work directly in schools across the CDSBEO. The Multilingual Language Learner Consultant will work strategically with MLL students to support individualized learning and achievement. They will also provide teaching demonstrations of best practices and instruction of assessment to classroom teachers in addition to providing demonstrations of high yield strategies to support MLLs in the classroom. The MLL coach will observe and coach teachers through co-planning in effective instructional practices and supports for MLLs. They will also collaborate with the other departments, such as Student Success, Curriculum and Special Education, and the other MLL Consultant to support curricular scaffolds for MLLs and participate and deliver on-going professional development and training. The MLL consultant will administer STEP assessments and assist with the annual update of the STEP assessments in CDSBEO schools.
