About the role
Job Title: Employment Specialist
Location: Hybrid role, Kitchener Campus, 235 King St E, Kitchener, ON N2G 4N5
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility required.
Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: Base salary of $52,500, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
What you'll be doing: Actively contact corporate employers to source out leads for job/internship opportunities and possible on-campus visits to speak to students. Contact businesses to promote graduates, events and understanding market trends. Conduct corporate presentations to organize on triOS graduates. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships through frequent follow-up contact to course out leads for internships. Attend networking events, association meetings, trade shows, and career fairs. Work with Marketing to arrange for employers to attend events: Career Fairs, Lunch and Learns Develop an extensive account base using XCAS – College Corporate Administration System (Corporate Accounts), magazines & newspapers, directories, and the internet Develop relationships with employers to review and support programs for approval submission to Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities. Deliver new student orientation as per schedule. Deliver one hour in-class Employment Ready workshops for the students setting out goals, objectives, directives, and expectations. Meet job placement and internship targets as defined by Management. Work with Marketing to develop student success stories, graduate profiles, and graduate/employer references. What you bring to the position: Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, Business or Career Development. Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience in recruitment (proven experience with placements), and/or business development. Demonstrated three (3) years of experience training/teaching adults in career management and employment facilitation and one to one counseling. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Knowledge of employment search techniques, career management competencies, training needs analysis, and one-to-one counseling techniques. Labour market trends and information. Computer literacy in MS Office, Internet, and email. Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
