Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Hourly Rate: $29.62 per hour Location: Kelowna, British Columbia Door Systems is Hiring! Are you looking to build a long-term career with a growing company? Door Systems is seeking a dependable and motivated Warehouse Associate to join our team in Kelowna. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a key role in supporting our operations by receiving and organizing inventory, preparing customer orders, building torsion springs, and maintaining an efficient warehouse. This position requires a detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys working with their hands.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy.
- Stock and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Prepare outbound shipments and transfers across Canada.
- Build and assemble torsion springs using specialized equipment and a torch (training provided).
- Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely (training and certification provided).
- Maintain inventory records and assist with inventory counts.
- Ensure shipping and receiving documentation is accurate and complete.
- Pick, pack, and stage materials for service and installation crews.
- Keep warehouse, yard, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Load and unload trucks and deliveries.
- Assist with general warehouse operations and branch support as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and team development activities.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- Trades, construction, mechanical, or manufacturing experience considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience using power tools.
- Forklift experience is an asset; certification will be provided.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Working Conditions
- Warehouse and yard environment.
- Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Regular lifting, pulling, pushing, and material handling.
- Use of power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and torch equipment.
