Assignment Area(s): Late French Immersion (LFI) 6-8 (1 Position)
Effective Date: July 6, 2026, to July 17, 2026 (8:15 am – 12:45 pm) (Instructional time is 8:30 – 12:30)
Please Note: The assignment in July may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position. Summer school programs are contingent upon student enrolment. If, on or around June 26, 2026, there are insufficient class numbers for this assignment the course will be cancelled and the teaching contract will be rescinded. Teachers will be paid in accordance with the Collective Agreement (Article B.29). By accepting this assignment, teachers do not receive experience or earn seniority or aggregate months of service towards conversions to a continuing contract (B status).
Deadline for Applications: April 27, 2026 - 12:00 p.m.
Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future __www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of two (2) current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.
**Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: **
- extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
- knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
- successful experience in teaching prior Summer Learning courses
- Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English
- have training and/or experience as a French Immersion teacher;
- Experience teaching French Immersion and/or formal training in French Immersion methodology
- training and successful experience in teaching students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
- provide regular reporting on student progress and demonstrate proven ability in involving parents as partners
- ability to work as part of a team
- demonstrated strong classroom management skills
- willingness to take a leadership role in the development of this program
- demonstrated ability, experience or training and a willingness to include learning outcomes for French Immersion at the Middle School level
- demonstrated ability to effectively work with Middle School students
- demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working, and developing positive relationships, with adolescents
