About the role
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, the Director of Logistics is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of all logistics and distribution activities to ensure efficient, reliable and cost-effective movement of goods across the supply chain. The role ensures optimal transportation performance, inventory flow and service levels while supporting the company’s operational and commercial objectives.
S/He works to optimize logistics costs, improve delivery performance and ensure the efficient utilization of transportation and labor resources. S/He ensures the reliability of logistics operations while maintaining strong collaboration with procurement, planning, sales and warehouse operations teams.
S/He is responsible for maintaining the integrity of logistics data and systems to ensure accurate tracking, reporting and operational decision-making.
The Director of Logistics mobilizes his team, values individuals and ensures their development.
He performs other related duties as requested by his immediate supervisor, all in accordance with internal procedures and rules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Management 20%
- Lead a team of logistics specialists, transportation coordinators, and distribution experts.
- Sets expectations and communicates them to employees using actionable KPIs.
- Manages daily performance, provides constructive feedback and realigns when necessary.
- Fosters collaboration and alignment between logistics, procurement, planning, sales and other business units.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations.
- Ensures clear and effective communication within the team.
- Ensures the ongoing training and professional development of employees under his responsibility.
- Ensures the recruitment of employees under his responsibility.
Logistics & Distribution Operations 70%
- Lead all strategic initiatives related to logistics and distribution by working closely with procurement, planning, warehouse operations, sales and finance.
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates all transportation and distribution activities.
- Develops and implements logistics strategies to improve delivery performance, service levels and operational efficiency.
- Optimize transportation networks, freight costs and carrier performance.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with transportation providers and logistics partners.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation carriers.
- Ensure efficient operations, including inbound and outbound distribution.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics processes and reduce operational costs.
- Monitor logistics KPIs including on-time delivery, transportation costs and service performance.
- Identify logistics risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of operations.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to ensure efficient product flow throughout the supply chain.
- Support and participate in the S&OP process to align logistics capacity with business demand.
Budget and labour planning 10%
- Prepare the annual salary, travel and operational budgets for employees under his responsibility.
- Manage logistics operating budgets including transportation and distribution costs.
- Track logistics cost performance, operational efficiency and return on supply chain investments.
- Implement KPIs to monitor logistics efficiency and service performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management, warehouse operations and logistics optimization.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and PowerBI is an asset.
- Fluent in English and good knowledge of French.
- Good knowledge of the tire and wheel industry, as well as seasonal products, would be an asset.

Any combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
This position requires travel outside Quebec and overseas (10%-20%)
