CIRO is the national self-regulatory organization that oversees all investment dealers, mutual fund dealers and trading activity on Canada’s debt and equity marketplaces. The Registration Inquiries Officer is a key member of the Registration team, responsible for responding to inquiries related to registration requirements, processes, and regulatory obligations.
Core Responsibilities:

Responds to inquiries from individuals and firms regarding registration requirements, processes, timelines, and regulatory obligations.

Analyzes, interprets and explains registration regulatory requirements in accessible language to support inquirer understanding.

Delivers responses in accordance with internal quality, consistency, and service‑level standards through email, phone, and online communication channels.

Tracks responses and ensures consistency and completeness of information.

Works closely with Registration, Compliance, Policy, and Legal teams when inquiries require cross‑departmental input.

Escalates inquiries that require specialized analysis or decision-making according to established procedures.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Must-haves
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience where analysis and synthesis capacity were acquired
- Strong customer service skills, with an ability to remain patient and helpful under pressure
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good file management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Good task management skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other people and departments
- Proficient with a variety of computer software, and an ability to easily learn the use of new software/programs
Nice to Haves
- Post-Secondary education (University Degree or College Diploma)
- Financial industry experience, such as in registration at a dealer member, another self-regulatory organization or securities commission
- Proficient on the National Registration Database (NRD)
