About the role
About Us
NanoTech Innovation Inc. is a Canadian advanced materials company based in Richmond, BC. We develop sustainable corrosion mitigation coatings for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure applications. Our product line includes AnarPrime™ for B2B applications and RustAct™ for consumer and DIY use. These waterborne rust converter products are designed to restore and protect corroded metal surfaces with reduced surface preparation compared to conventional methods such as abrasive blasting. We work with painting contractors, facility managers, industrial clients, and maintenance teams to help extend asset life, reduce downtime, and make corrosion restoration projects more efficient.
About the Role
We are looking for a technically strong specialist who can support product development/improvement, application consultations, and assist with B2B project opportunities. This role may be a strong fit for someone with a background in chemical engineering, materials science, paints, coatings, polymers, corrosion, applied chemistry, or a related technical field. You will support coating evaluations, customer discussions, technical presentations, project assessments, and application guidance. You will also help clients and contractors understand how the product should be applied, and how they can reduce preparation time, downtime, and restoration costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support R&D, coating evaluations, and application trials.
- Help assess projects for surface conditions, preparation requirements, and coating compatibility.
- Prepare technical notes, application guidance, and project-specific recommendations.
- Support product demonstrations, field trials, and customer application questions.
- Support application projects related to industrial maintenance, surface preparation, coating application, and field performance evaluation.
- Participate in discussions related to coating formulation, coating application methods, inspection requirements, and project-specific technical considerations.
- Help improve technical documentation, FAQs, and application procedures.
- Make calls and set up meetings with contractors, facility managers, and industrial clients.
- Explain technical concepts in clear, practical language.
- Support technical presentations, project reviews, and proposal preparation.
- Help communicate project value, including reduced prep time, reduced downtime, asset life extension, and potential cost savings.
- Record customer questions, objections, and feedback to improve product, sales materials, scripts, and follow-up.
About You
You are practical, curious, and comfortable working between lab, field application, and customer conversations. You are comfortable asking questions, explaining technical information, and supporting business discussions with customers.
You have
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a technical, industrial, maintenance, coatings, application support, project coordination, or related role.
- Education or experience in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Coatings Technology, Corrosion Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest or experience in coatings, polymers, surface treatment, corrosion protection, construction materials, or industrial maintenance.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail in testing, documentation, CRM notes, and follow-up.
- Practical understanding that customers care about cost, time, downtime, risk, and ease of application.
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial coatings, paints, primers, corrosion protection, or surface preparation.
- Familiarity with SDS, TDS, application guides, technical reports, or product specifications.
- Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, SSPC, AMPP/NACE, or coating system concepts.
- Experience speaking with contractors, engineers, facility teams, or industrial clients.
- Experience with CRM, proposals, customer presentations, or technical project support.
Location & Schedule
- Location: Richmond, BC.
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Some remote flexibility may be considered.
- Occasional local site visits, customer meetings, or product demonstrations may be required.
